Hi!

very few modes in the navigation portlet can display documents ( since 
the navigation information is obtained from CPSNavigation which does not 
index leaf nodes)

concerning "Vertical breadcrumb menu", it is a mix of breadcrumbs and 
"folder contents", so I guess the option of showing documents in that 
mode is by default. Otherwise it's a bug ..
