There's an implementation in CPSCourrier (Dashboard portal_type IIRC). 
Changing search criteria and columns is just a matter of widgets.

The advanced use-case would be to tie this to the advanced search form, 
letting the user save a given search as a dashboard. We'll probably add 
this to CPSCourrier (CPSDashboards if we don't run out of time) in the 
next few weeks.
