We do too. It's not the problem. :-)

We have said that we won't add *ourselves* new features to CPS. But
it's open source and we would be glad to see contributions to CPS to
make it evolve. We do *love* CPS.
Moreover we will continue to support CPS for at least 3 years.

As far as we will be able to do it, yes.

I would recommend to use CPS4 and its JCR ZODB Storage for Jackrabbit
(which will store data into SQL at the end).
