[CPS-users] SQLDirectory = Members directory?

Greetings,

What would occur if I removed the members and groups directories from my 
CPS site, and replaced them with SQLDirectories with the same names? 
Would my site then authenticate and store group information against 
those SQLDirectories??  Or is there something else I need to do to use a 
SQLDirectory as my user directory?  (My goal here is to have a CPS site, 
  against which I can authenticate Jabber users too...)
