They shouldn't :) Do you have details (i.e. error messages)?

Perhaps from the Zope Management Interface:
portal_layouts/<your layout>/<your AttachedFile Widget>, go to bottom, uncheck 
the three 'Display link to ...' fields. But I don't know whether these 
properties are available in the CPS version you use; if not, I think you must 
delete the 'word_to_html' transform in portal_transform.
