[CPS-users] Connecting to CPSSharedCalendar using Chandler

Hi,

I have lately been trying to find a useful (and usable) calendar
application that works well on my Mac, and that synchronizes with our
CPSSharedCalendar (v. 2.6.2). For a month or so I have been using
Mozilla's Sunbird, with varying success. And, after updating to an
Intel Mac and to Sunbird 0.3 (from 0.3a2), it all went wrong... All
the appointments I had on my CPSSharedCalendar were permenantely
deleted when Sunbird tried (and failed) to subscribe to it. After
attempting to restore the calendar data, I have been looking for
alternatives. I know that the next version of Mac OS X (to which I
have developer preview access, but no time to test it yet) includes a
new version of iCal that supposedly (finally) supports subscribing
*and* synchronization to/from CalDAV servers. But, while I'm waiting
for OS X Leopard to be released, I need an alternative.

After some searching and web-wandering, I found the OSAF's Chandler
calendar app, and it seemed to have the features I was looking for
(and more features I don't need).

However, after installing Chandler (v.0.7a3 with support for Intel
Macs and alleged full support for CalDAV-synchronization) I can't
seem to get it to connect to our CPSSharedCalendar. I've tried the
menu option "Collection - Subscribe..." both on a clean install, and
after adding a "new collection". I have entered the CPSSharedCalendar
export URL [1], and it requests my username and password, but after
entering that, I just get an error message on the status line of the
subscription window saying: "Sharing error. [...]
<zanshin.http.HTTPError (200)>". I have even tcpdump'ed the
communication between the server and Chandler, and it actually seems
that after a few attempts, it manages to log into CPS (HTTP Digest
Auht.) and the CPS server sends out all my calendar events on an
iCalendar-like format. What, then, goes wrong, I haven't been able to
pinpoint.

After searching the mailing lists and documentation of Chandler,
without finding any information about this problem, I thought I'd
check with the CPS community, if any of you guys have had any success/
problems in connecting CPSSharedCalendar and Chandler. Anyone care to
share their knowledge or experiences? Thanks!

Best regards,
