Hi,

If I understood correctly your objective, that is, to show a list or a
calendar with upcoming events, then I think what you need is:
  - Import CPSSharedCalendar profile (I'm using CPS-3.4.2)
  - Have some calendar visible; the portlet will show visible events; people
will see events for visible calendar only.
  - Configure the portlet behavior; logged as manager, Manage Portal Themes
and then switch to portlet management interface.
Here there is what I would call a "gotcha":
    * first you need to create a slot in the theme management interface;
this is done adding a Portal Box Group Templet, that is, a slot.
    * then, in the Portlet Management Interface, you add a
'portal_type_calendar_portlet_title' (in my interface, the rightmost icon
from the portlets bar).
    * You can configure the Portlet to show events from all visible
calendars or for a specific calendar whose path you must provide.
This is what I've done; it's working for a single visible calendar, but I
believe it should work if I had more calendars.
I believe you already know, but you can have a "box" showing published
'news itens' too; just replace the calendar portlet with a "content portlet"
and select only `News Itens' as the content to be shown.

Regarding your error below, sorry but I have no idea about it.

  Hope this help!
