Hello,

I manage different sites proposing RSS portlets.

Those are used on a day-basis and the soon-to-be-released CPS 3.4.6
makes it possible to have multiple channels in a RSS portlet :
http://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/ticket/1900

So it's working.

Yes CPSRSS hasn't had any change on it since a long time.
The feedparser in it (http://feedparser.org/) could for example
be updated.

With CPS 3.4.x one should not use installers anymore. Those are
not maintained anymore when they still exist. Actually I'm trying
to remove them all since they are obsolete.

=> Load the "CPS RSS" profile in the portal_setup tool instead

Give an example of a feed you are using please.

Maybe.

Apart from not loading the "CPS RSS" profile you seem to use
the software as it should be.
