Hi. JCR: Probably you saw this article already, but just in case: http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-jcr/ and some interesting Alfresco's info: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Introducing_the_Alfresco_Java_Content_Repository_API http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/JackRabbit Ice: Working with Ice reminded me of times when i was struggling with Corba + C++ and corba servers like VisiBroker(skeletons, servants, memory leaks.. :), but my first impression with Ice was very good. Especially reading Ice vs CORBA and Ice vs SOAP articles on ZeroC site are very refreshing. Some notes for those who will want to build it from source and use with python: 1) You need to build first C++ version of Ice 2) Building python requires setting ICE_HOME variable and in case you have custom built python(i do) PYTHON_HOME variable set too like: cd IcePy-3.0.1 ICE_HOME=/opt/Ice PYTHON_HOME=/usr/local make /opt/Ice is where built C++ version is installed. 3) I was in need to update my gcc on FC4 to 4.0.2 as gcc 4.0.0 had inner bug preventing from compilation Ice for C++ Java with Ice required no additional stuff(unless you want to rebuild it with Ant). So my simple Ice tests with Printer example: - python server + python client and - java server + python client passed without problems Ruslan
