I believe the indexes Jack Rabbit's side are used and defined for a totally different purpose than the one needed for fulltext or "human" search queries purposes. The full text is an example of field that has nothing to do at JackRabbit side. I could think of others such as the fields we would like to use for sorting purpose only. (i.e : not tokenized nor stored fields)) We could as well talk about performances here. Separating the jobs will light a bit JackRabbit which will certainly have to deal with a lot of queries on a GED platform apart from the "user" searches... ;) Furthermore, this is in a conceptual point of view a completely different service anyway. So NXLucene solution or something else (e.g : having a different service handling a dedicated store for fulltext, sorting indexes and others) seems to be the best solution in my point of view. I don't know Jack Rabbit's enough though...
