Just to be sure we understood each other: it would be ok to make a 
relation between a document (proxy in the current CPS words) and a 
special version of another document in the repository.

It would be a bit tricky (or at least not so natural for the framework) 
to make that kind of relation between two documents, whatever their 
versions are.

This would be a problem anyway if we decide to put relations apart from 
the JCR: we would have to query the graph of relations first, and then 
dereference results querying the repository.

Another point is that the JCR is designed to store flat or tree 
structures. Maybe it's not such a good idea to make it store graph 
structures: representation and query issues may be involved.
