FWIW, I have found that Trac is missing the one feature Roundup has that I like the most: mail-in of issue responses and dialog as part of issue history. ZEA actually funded Edgewall to add this to Trac, though they added it in a temporary fashion. In what ways is Trac's issue tracking superior to Roundup, the system used at Codespeak (and numerous other places)? Even the Edgewall people admit the current Trac architecture isn't geared for project and issue management (though the next rewrite should improve this). > Setting up such a facility is a lot of job and a lot of > responsibility, > so whomever takes that responsibility first should get the credit for > it. Thus, let's at least *acknowledge* that Philipp did this very thing almost a year ago and announced it to the world: http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope3-dev/2004-July/011499.html """ In the past few weeks, Martijn Faassen and I have started such a project at codespeak, the "z3 base". We hope that this will become *the* development home for third party packages for Zope3. We will be happy to host any Zope3-related OpenSource project and welcome all kinds of contributions. Martijn's Five and Sidnei's sqlos are already being actively developed there and there is more to come. """ Acting as if his contribution doesn't count, simply because he isn't using a system called Trac that none of us were committed to a month ago, isn't giving his effort the right support, IMO. --Paul
